Pet sitting question

My wife found a site called Rover.com. has anyone heard of or used these folks? I would run a back ground check on any one we use if we go with them but I was hoping for some feed back from some one here as well.

Thanks

I heard about them when I was looking for a dog sitter. After a bit of checking, I wasn't interested in using them...However, look for the APS certification.

When we travel, I rely on my facebook friends and family to sit my three boxers. I have a great friend in Ohio that argues with me each time I try to pay him for watching them. I usually win out by mailing him cash...LOL

Yes, word of mouth/experiences from friends is the best way to find a pet-sitter or a place to board imho.

I see a lot of cases on Judge Just where a good friend will dog sit and the dog gets hurt or hurts someone and the sitter gets sued.

I sometimes use a pet sitter in the NRH area. She comes to pick up your dog and brings it back when you call that you are back home. Keeps them around other dogs and they eat and sleep whenever they like. Kind of a "Cesar Milan" enviroment (if you ever watch the "Dog Whisperer")...

Agreed but still make sure that they have also gone through the certifications. I have a friend up the street who does this full time with his wife and they are busy 7 days a week
