What's the word on the 2000 Passat VR6 MT? My brother-in-law had a 2000 Jetta AT and couldn't get rid of it quickly enough for all the electrical glitches. Is the Passat the same way?

That's a 2000 Passat V6, not VR6... it's the Audi V6. I can't remember if it's 60* or 90*.

Watch out for sunroof drain leaks. They flood the front footwells. The trans should be solid. Also watch out for split CV boots and dead ball joints. There are 4 on each side, plus the tie rod!

I think the timing belt is done every 75k on those? The front of the car comes off easily to access the belt, and you don't have to discharge the AC.
