Not every "left wing loon" or "right wing whack job" has been banned or given an infraction . . . so it's not the message that's being banned, it's clearly the messenger's fault. Of course, that does not account for those suffering with a combination narcissistic - persecution complex ;)

I will momentarially break my personal boycott of this site to tell you why that is. In response to one of the typical falsehood filled right wing nut job emails, I called another poster a liar, well, for posting lies. I was banned for it. In other words, for making a statement of truth, I was banned. Looking at the current threads, we have so-called "Air and Roads", again posting a falsehood filled email. Larry, Air, whatever you call yourself these days, you're a liar.

Since this site values the posting of lies more than it values the posting of truth, it needs to degenerate into the typical right wing nut job email freakazoid sphere, which it seems to be in the process of doing an excellent job of doing. Actual intellectual conversation under those circumstances is impossible. I would suggest if the moderators wish to improve their OT site, they either prohibit the posting of these forwarded email smears or allow them to be called what they are, lies, and those who post them and assert they are true what they are, liars.

And now, to return to boycott mode.....

This thread is a good example of how the left looks at the right. They see the right as a group that should be banned from society and the electoral process.

The left espouses compassion and fair play. This thread, however, points out something else and that is their true desire is to silence those who do not agree with them.

I have had PLENTY of run ins with lefties on this forum. I have lost my cool with them and even called them names. In extreme circumstances I have reported their posts. All that, but I have NEVER tried to outright silence them as this thread is clearly showing that it would like to do to the right.

Actually that's not what I got from his post at all. He is complaining about offering something factually correct and being punished for it.

We can disagree on things... but facts are facts. Something I've tried to debate with you before Larry, and I also gave up when I realized it was a waste of my time.

This thread is full of knee jerk reactions and you're one of the biggest offenders.

I see a fair balance at this point between the sides however there is definitely a hefty lean to one side copying and pasting chain emails on here. That is the crap that is banned from every other car forum under the sun, and should be more heavily enforced here. That however, is not a matter of partisan politics but a reflection of individual members. Threads that I just described should just be locked and left to die.

I'm curious, who are the progressive members who've been banned?

i wrongly assumed that JR was banned. another leftie was RED2 or similar. Again, he my not actually be banned.

It is interesting that I post a letter to moderators and so far have not had any responses from them but have plenty from the righties.

I would love to have a ban on the forwarding of those toxic emails. It seems there is no equivalent on the left to balance the right wing hysteria.

Be patient Tom. Most or all of the moderators have regular jobs trying to make a living. They usually respond in the afternoon or evening.:)

This site has degenerated into a morass of intellectual stupidity whereby any individual member can troll at will simply to annoy his political adversaries. There is no real discussion by anyone who is actually knowledgeable on the topic.

The site now represents a typical slice of America where every idiot has a strong opinion on a matter he knows absolutely nothing about.

You and others who can hold a dialog have now departed for other sites because the moderation on here, which would limit the trolls and the rants (specifically prohibited by the TOU) is non-existent.

It's a sad commentary. The site was superior when it was moderated properly.
