Looks like the worst "recovery" in post WW2 history.

I've got about the same income I had in 1980, working as hard as I have ever worked and having the best time of my life.

If Obama gets re-elected, think of the mess he is inheriting.

The time to buy is when blood is running in the streets.

I am picking up all kinds of nice stuff from folks that have decided they no longer need things they bought ten years ago.

I just cut the payments on one of my homes by about 40% due to a program Obama put into place.

I am retired and drawing a nice pension check from one of the largest oil companies in the world.

Things are going good in my recession.

So, how are things out your way?

In the car business...

5 years ago versus today what I've noticed is how people's credit scores have changed for the worse.... much much worse.... If it wasn't for the rise of credit unions these people wouldn't get financed, and if they did would be paying crazy rates.

Used car prices have gotten higher much as well. I could sell my 2001 Yukon Denali that I had 3ish years ago for thousands more than what I sold it for then.

Cash buyers have almost evaporated...I have a 95 E320 with 84000 miles and no issues that I can't even get $4000 for. Meanwhile all of my newer cars that qualify for financing usually sell quickly.

I've noticed a shift towards plastic lately. (2 years) lots and lots of bank cards though.

I'm still around 60% cash

I got a larger tax refund than I've ever in my life had, with no change in income or other relevant situations. So large that I'm going to have to re-do my withholdings to compensate. Some kinda rampant socialism going on there. Maybe the President is redistributing rich people's money and sending some of it to me. Meat, milk, wool and animal sales are up. My property reappraised about thirty percent higher recently. I have an offer to partner with a local winery and put grapes on a fairly large parcel.
There are still lots of people around here out of work, but some how or other they are making ends meet. I can't complain.
