I'd have to agree with Calvin, although, Calvin would never use God's sovereignty to excuse ones behavior. He maintained that we are all responsible for our actions. Both are true.
In Zimmerman's case, it is true that the event was part of God's plan, but that can not be used as an excuse by Zimmerman. He made choices that resulted in a young man's death.

Perhaps the next event in 'Gods Plan', is a very long prison sentence, not the absence of Zimmerman from society.
