I was about to post in the other thread but I think this one has a more appropriate title (Just need to throw in "One Owner" in the title and it will be perfect )

A few things to note from the photos-It's a 300GD (Yay! ) and I think it's at least a post 1985 model but it's hard to tell.

Very inspiring story from a nice soft spoken and well mannered gentleman. I just with there was a bit more back-story.

Hey, at least you'd be able to find it easily in the mall parking lot. Maybe you could even get a "Hello Kitty" vanity plate for it . . .

Not to mention that you'd NEVER have to worry that it might get stollen or jacked!

For those of you who have ridden or driven a G-Wagen....

That would be a long 800,000 km.

I have rode shotgun in a diesel G (they are geared ridiculously low).. and to get to 800,000 kms on it - WOOOOOOOOOOOW - superhuman or the patience of a saint+monk combined.

living in south africa the only 2 brands of off road vehicles you saw actually doing something were both boxes, one was a Gelandewagen and the other was a LR Defender.

The toyota, nissan, isuzu offroad trucks used to drive on the ruts left by the above two.

It's not so bad if you don't mind 60 MPH all day. Although his is a good amount heavier then mine so yeah....patience is a necessity.

I found an interview with Gunther from a few years ago in Curacao that should shed a bit of light on how he gets around!

GUNTHER HOLTORF-BIAHANDO RONT MUNDU - YouTube

(English portion starts at 1:08....I guess it just makes sense that he would know how to speak a few languages....)
