Well the only people who really use that name in conversation are birthers, who don't exactly have a reputation for lucidity. IMO it's about the same as calling BO Barack Hussein Obama in conversation, only to emphasize that his middle name is the last name of a former infamous dictator.

So, are you suggesting that by definition only "birthers" or those who's butter slipped off the noodle so to speak are the only ones who make or could make a serious inquiry into the issue ? If so, that is very telling -- by definition.

Have to love the OP's feigned dismay of being lumped with "the Birthers" . . . but has nothing to say to distinguish his newly found curiosity from that very group. Is there a sub-category of these folks who are "Birthers-Lite" who espouse "Yeah, I know it's crazy, but what if . . ." as their mantra?

However, labeling them as such is an effective, but superficial, means to discount what they have to say. Maybe the birthers are right and B.O. really did spend a bundle to create a highle effective P.R. campaign to discount them and cast them in bad light.

Ok - good to know. I think that it was something worth looking into at one point given the ambiguity of his background, but has been disproven over and over again. The ones who still remain clinging to the notion that all of Obama's policies are going to be magically revoked by way of citizenship and the likes are grasping for straws. If it turns out that he's born in Kenya I'll be the first to admit I was wrong and overly critical :D but until then, the evidence IMO is stacked against it.

I am not a "birther" and I am not dismayed. I can say that B.O. waited an incredibly long time to "disclose" his birth certificate. You would think he would be proud to be an American and display his "proof" with pride. And yes, I am very curious about this topic now. I know B.O.'s spouse was not proud of America -- until America made her hubby POTUS. So maybe that explains the delay. And, B.O.'s mentor and preacher thought it OK to pray to his god to "damm America". And yes, those are facts and not "Birther's" hysteria. These are their words. And yes, the "Birthers" need to thank the US Government for laying the foundation and doing all the work for them since that is B.O.'s philosophy; that is, someone else is to thank. I guess the world will never know to a 100% certainity if B.O. is really Barry Soetoro from Indonesia.
