That's nothing...we've had thunder for hours here.

It's a big one...stay safe!

Just rain here...I seem to be in an odd corridor where there is almost no severe weather. Although we get all the warnings, we almost never get anything beyond a rumble or two, I think it must be the terrain to our west or something, always breaks up the storms. I hear they are pretty nasty elsewhere though, everyone stay safe!

It hasn't lived up to the hype here mid-state. Not really complaining, though.

Normal here too and we've been soaked for days now. 90% humidity, 100 degree heat, biblical fly hatch in my swampy pens. I hate the lightning and wind. My son the other day says "god I LOVE the thunder and lightning". I told him when I was your age I did too. I didn't have to worry about thousands of dollars worth of livestock, decades worth of work and breeding underneath metal shade structures and leaning against metal fences. Whether or not the roof was going to leak was the farthest thing from my mind.

They are here, too. This was supposed to have been an exceptionally strong storm rolling through (it may have been elsewhere but fizzled here). Was supposed to be hail, heavy rain, wind gusts to 60 mph. The local weather was all over it, "the derechos are coming, the derechos are coming!"

Looks like it slid to the south.

It split and bypassed just to the south and north of us. Just fine with me.

We did get some pretty incredible thunder and lightning, all at a nice safe distance.

That's what my boss said. He lives out in Columbia. Said he sat out on his deck and watched the light show.

We had a few good flashes and booms but not much else. The little guys wanted to stay up late since it was their last day of summer school yesterday (9.5yo has extended year and my 6yo went as a typical peer for a new integrated summer program-both had about enough of it ), so we had a twin bill of the Muppet Movie and Ice Age (their choice, both for the 75th time each).

I went to Sarver, a small town about 10 miles north of here, and saw a decent amount of trees down from the storms. We had winds here, but not that bad.
