Vintage Rallye Grill badges

If you have one, please post a picture!!!

I picked one up for myself to give the E500 some pizazz at Starfest this year. 1955 Badge on a 2005 car, silly I know, but I love the artwork.

I also got a birthday/going away gift for Miguel (Delibes on the forum). He starts his Panamerican journey in less than 2 weeks!!!

Since he's a Spaniard.

Browse for yourself... So many beautiful ones.

rallye badge | eBay

This is my favorite one, but not for $550.00.

Smile June/July 2012 trip memories from the area

WOW Uber-cool badges!! Looks like one is from the ADAC (West German Auto Club) from the 1955 rally at the Nurburgring! That one is special to us Mercedes folks, because 1955 was the year when Mercedes Benz won every important race in Europe ---andr it was ALSO the same year the Mercedes Benz retired from racing when it hit the top of its game!

The last one appears to be from the first era ande depicts what probably may be from one of the first or the first the first post war car rally from Bavaria, cross border into Switzerland (the snowman's sign is a combination of the West German adler (Eagle) and the Swiss flag -and the "Zoll/Douane" sign is the sign for "Customs" at a German/Swiss border crossing.

Last month and the month before I made several entries into and out of Switzerland, in my rented Audi A6 (seen at Kientzheim in the France wine country in Alsace)

though I came in through Austria, Lichtenstein and France but not through Germany.

Here was one... (Switzerland/Lichtenstein)

Those border crossings were totally relaxed. I was just waved through. Coming into Lichtenstein it was pretty funny, because the borderguard shot me a dirty look for distracting me, he was too busy flirting with a beautiful woman to be bothered doing his job. (Laughs)

Most times at night or after dark the border crossings in Switzerland were closed and unmanned.

Once we had to actually get out (on a rural road) and MANUALLY lift the striped pole in the air!

(Like the old woman did in the James Bond 1964 movie "Goldfinger" whre he was driving his DB5 near the "Auric Enterprises" building chased by North Koreans in three old blacK Mercedes Pontons!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5FhlzDYl-M

(This was going from Switzerland into France, in our case, at about 3.30 am in the morning - when WE "crashed" the border. Not dramatic at ALL!))

Arrow I put one on the "Red Plum"

"ACM" = Automobile Club of Monaco. (found it on ebay Germany. (eBay - eine der größten deutschen Shopping-Websites) last year

These were designed created and sold on here, years ago by "TheDon" . Some of you may remember these chrome Limited Edition Shop forum badges):

I still have this one on the 560SEC after all these years...

(Each of these vehicles now has the Mecedes Benz 250,000 kms high mileage badge on them now too)

Yep... I do not know if he got a duplicate or that one was the only one he had. In any case, it's being put to good use!

I think he plans to keep the grill, packing it away in a suitcase and keeping it as a memento.

I've got one plus an OBK one that The Don also commissioned. I don't have a pic on my phone though and I'm 350 miles from my car.
