How about something different to argue about that is neither religion or politics? Well. it might be close to religion for some....

Lets talk about BEER.
What is your favorite, or favorites, as the case may be? and WHY?
As an aside, I did some reading on the beer advocate website, and found it less than helpful. On describing the same beer, the descriptions vary more than they agree. No head, no lace, 1 finger head, good lace, full head, excellent lace--all describing the same brew. I figure with the OD crowd we ought to get some decent opinions.

I am a bit of a hophead, I like virtually any and all IPA. Some better ( or bitter) than others, but I've never had an objectionable IPA.

Current new favorite is Harvest Ale by Southern Tier Brewing.

Eagerly anticipating November's release of Celebration Ale by Sierra Nevada. I can't say I have ever had a bad brew from Sierra Nevada.
Cheapo stand-by is Yeungling Lager for the summer, switching to Porter in the fall.

That's it for me--where do the rest of you stand?

I was rather fond of Rooster Brewing's Bee's Knees Honey Wheat when I lived in UT...low alcohol, but the taste was clean. They also had a Chocolate Porter that was very good.

Since moving to PA, I've become fond of Yeungling Lager. I'm also a fan of Honey Brown Lager as well.

My old standby...Miller Lite. It's always a crowd pleaser, and if it isn't enough, you know the door to leave by.

I was a bit surprised to learn that it is a regional beer in Mexico. I was at a beach town in Baja (Rosarito) and found that they did not have it, in fact, some of the restaurants there had never heard of it.

Very tasty, but somewhat heavy. Usually 2 is all I can drink.

Depends, this time of year, Octoberfest.

I stopped drinking a while back, and I have NO regrets. :D

I've never had an issue with it...I can take it or leave it. I've been lucky that way. My older brother had an issue with it, it made him an a55hole...thank god he quit too!

I'm a fan of summer beers, mostly whitbiers. Walt Wit is one of my favorites, from the Philadelphia brewing company.

Guinness is my usual. Dos Equis Amber with lime is my back-up.

I had a Dos Equis Amber for the first time about 2 weeks ago. Really enjoyed it.

I am a Sam Adams fan. Summer Ale is one of my favorites along with Cherry Wheat and during the Holiday season I like to pick up the "Holiday Collection"

I used to enjoy Saranac beers, but it's difficult to find them in my area. They had a White IPA and a Black and Tan that I really liked. I also tried their Oatmeal Stout, which wasn't bad at all.

I'll have to ask the guys as the beer store if they can order it in for me...

I've seen a variety pack by Saranac for sale here in VA. Never had it though.
I like an Oatmeal Stout, never had a bad one.

I also lived in UT a long time ago.

I used to be able to pick up sample packs of Saranac at the Krogers in Ohio...that's how i was introduced to it.

Where in UT? I lived just outside of Ogden for 2 years, and would stop in the Roosters in Old Ogden once a week...straight up the road from the Union Train Station Museum.
