1995 S320 Transmission- no forward or reverse
Please help. I have 1995 S320 with 210K miles. Transmission was rebuilt 80K miles ago at 130K miles. Now not sure if this was transmission. I drove to work like normal. When, I am going to lunch, the care won't move either forward or in reverse. It just sit there,no transmission engagement. I checked under car if the linkage loose. The linkage is still in tact.
There is no warning sign or anything. I called few shop. They all sais they have to diagnosis and in worst scenerio it will be $3,000. I don't know if it is worth to fix it. Car was running great, did not used oil. Anyone knows if it is something simple? Transmission fluid was OK and at level. I added additive to prevent slip a month ago and it was sticky additive. |

Step one: loosen and remove one of the transmission oil cooler lines and run the engine to see if the transmission is pumping fluid.
