I was truly humbled yesterday

Yesterday was the ceremony in which I retired from the uniform services after a career with some holes in it that went back to 1972.

I got a couple of nice mementos and one gag gift.

Then they gave me this:

Legion of Merit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and I didn't know what to say.

Wow! Congratulations on the successful retirement and the successful career. Did you receive the award for a specific task or was it more of an overall recognition?

I see you are in some distinguished company there.

You'll have to add yourself to the Wiki page.

Thank you for your service!

I don't want to add myself to anything and I don't want to be responsible for anything except my cars.

Absolutely...CONGRATS! It's most humbling when you recieve such respect from one's peers and superiors!

BTW: Which of the 4 did you recieve?
Far left, center left, center right or far right?

And...what, exactly, IS your rank?

Just curious...
