I was truly humbled yesterday
Yesterday was the ceremony in which I retired from the uniform services after a career with some holes in it that went back to 1972.
I got a couple of nice mementos and one gag gift. Then they gave me this: Legion of Merit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and I didn't know what to say.

Wow! Congratulations on the successful retirement and the successful career. Did you receive the award for a specific task or was it more of an overall recognition?
