Endeavour's final touch down.

Waited for it in Griffith park on top of the city: flew right over us at the last pass of three over Los Angeles. Had tears in my eyes.

I was at Disneyland and saw the Endeavour fly over at about 12:23pm. Just an awe-inspiring sight to see. Can't wait to see it go on it's 12 mile, two day journey through the streets of Los Angeles to get to the California Science Center.

She was built in Palmdale, CA during the late '80's. Welcome back home to California Endeavour!

I am wondering why this is so emotional. Is is that we would like the America of the 80's to come back with it?

Space travel is a grand adventure that we all secretly wish we could do too.

The 80's sort of sucked. It has more to do what we as humans can accomplice, going to space is one of our greatest achievements.

It's because we are choosing to fail at an "endeavor" in which we have been world leaders since the end of WWII. A vast public acknowledgement that the US is in decline while our competitors position themselves to reap the bennifets in our place.

That's funny considering the W123 was designed and developed in the seventies. The W124 and W140 are more products of the eighties even that the W124 started development in the late seventies.

My wife told me yesterday, that she read about a large number of trees that will be cut down along the route to get Endeavour to the museum. Having recently been FORCED to remove large, healthy, beautiful trees, this is very saddening to me.

Decimating our space program is waving a big, white flag for the world to see. JFK is rolling over in his grave.
