New project - Repairing John Deere 4230 a/c system

System has been being kept plugging along with freeze 12 for a few years and now needs to be properly repaired. It was originally an r12 system and reading up on it sounds like it is typically a succesful conversion to r134. The evaporator is pretty nasty in the unit so it will be an all day job to make it right. Looks pretty straight forward.

Reading up on it seems that one of the weak areas of the design is the hard tube lines going up in the left rear ROPS support. Fix is to just go back with a/c hoses.

We have an old 4320 here. Used for small jobs ~ disking, chasing & banking. No air con, just louver windows.
Make sure you give it a good clean before you start work on it. Will have years of dust built up every where.

Probably cabin filter blocked so removed so aircon still worked. Next thing, evap becomes a cabin filter & blocks ~ no more aircon.
Its going to get messy in the cabin when you hit the evap with some air pressure to get it clean !

My scraper & grader drivers clean the cabin filter when ever they blow the air cleaner out. They have worked out its them that suffers if the aircon dont work !
