uh oh - Ferrari 360 problem battery jump error

Seems owner hooked jumper box cables up backwards on his 01 360 and now the brakes don't seem to have any vacuum (hard to press on pedal). Car is in Atlanta. Anyone know of someone in Atl with the computer to read Ferraris? Personally, I just as soon the car stay in Atl but I did tell the owner I'd let him know what I could find out in regards to the issue. Based on what I have read so far he could have fried the brake electronic$.

Simple things first...

Is there a vac pump? Does said vac pump have a fuse?

IIRC, the 360 pulls vacuum off the engine.

Think the electronic brake distribution unit might be dead.

^x2, based on what I have found on Ferrari Chat the symptoms do reflect that.

I'm probably going to suggest he take it to Ferrari of Atl.

I mentioned to him he should trade it in for a Porsche 911.

The things I do for members and their friends on this forum! Alright, I'll help him out! Tell him to send the car to me, and I'll scrap it out for him, no charge.

send it to the government's "Cash for high priced Italian clunkers" program.

and lest we all forget how to destroy a perfectly good running engine........(only the government could come up with something this @#$%% STUPID and then convince the public that it was good to destroy their perfectly good running paid for cars!)

If it started since and the only issue is brakes. The owner got off lucky perhaps.

Since its an F car all you need to do is throw money at it. I'm guessing $5k will handle it...just think of all the Amex points!

Write it off as an expensive lesson.
