winter road treatment, NE region.

I have begun my search for another vehicle. I have been looking to my south as the winters there are less severe and do not require winter road maintenance as severe as my area. I want to avoid a "rust belt" vehicle.

More and more candidates are showin up in the VT, CT, NH area. What do they use to treat roads in the winter up there?

So I can expect the same rust issues as PA.

I've found some good cars around, its all in how well maintained they are. Don't forget anywhere its dry that they'll likely have cracked rubber and such. I wouldn't completely limit your search. For example, I have a 99% rust free w126 for sale at the moment

If you put a tranny in it, it wouldn't be for sale...it would be in my driveway!

x2. My 420SEL and 300D 2.5 both came from Columbus, OH. Both are pretty rust free. The D had two rust spots inside the engine bay, seemed to be caused by design more than road salt type things.

My 190E has surface rust in a good amount of place, but no holes or falling apart type stuff (Its actually getting new front lower control arms right now)..

The two 300SD's are where the rust is at. The gold one is a NE Ohio car. Its rust came from the rear window leakage.

The other one had a very rough life. LOL.

Sodium chloride (liquid and solid) and liquid calcium chloride.

They have been experimenting with beet juice.

What are you looking for? Folks in the non-rust belt can look for you. People love shopping with someone else's money.
