Whats the oldest appliance in your home?

I like when a manufacturer can build something that last ,my purchase of a GE minifridge back in 91 was a good one ,its still cooling like a champ some 21 yrs later. My folks have a kirby vacuum cleaner thats from the 60s ,never skipped a beat.A plastic drum broke on my overseas piece of sh(t vac due to a small bolt ,the kirby would have eaten it up and thrown out the bones.

Sharp Carosel II Convection Microwave Oven

It was a wedding gift and it still works just fine. Considering we have been married 29 years and 4 months, I'd say that it was a good investment.

My mom has a built-in-the-cabinet GE oven that is copper...what does that tell you? She kept it when we remodeled her kitchen in the 80s and it's still working fine, though it was a pain to install in the new cabinets because the "standards" had changed over time.

Really, though, I think you should have said "major" appliance if that was more your focus. My mom probably has a stand mixer in a cabinet or pantry someplace that is ancient, but it never saw much use so it's still working. Not quite the same as a workhorse, which the oven has been.

Everything we have is old except the mobile equipment. Here is one of a couple fans that we have that we use all the time during the summer. Says Westinghouse Mobilaire on the label in the center.

My wife.

Actually it would be my old dorm fridge. It was 10 years old when I got it and it's been 18 years since I escaped UConn. It holds a 24-pack and slides in under a shelf in the kitchen.

In out camper, we have a toaster from the 1950s.
None of our major appliances are nearly that old--they get replaced at least every 10 years or so.

We have a 1954 Frigidaire fridge in the laundry for keeping drinks cold. It has never missed a beat !
Also a 1978 sanyo microwave that still works fine. it has mechanical timer knobs. None of this electronic stuff.
A 1950 copper hot water system, wood heated through a 1950 Lux slow combustion stove/oven.

Not exactly an appliance, but I have a 1924 Atwater-Kent radio mounted in a Kiel table. The radio still works well.

The table serves as a stand for my flatscreen TV.

An original Sharp Carousel microwave. Made in Memphis, 1981. Has a slide lever for temp control and a rotary clockwork timer. This thing has outlasted 3 or 4 other microwaves around here with digital controls. Simpler is better, (like a W123).
