BaT: Built '88 300GD (Paging Fulcrum525...)

Looks like a solid build. Love the military-ish look. Not a big fan of the $35K BIN.

BaT Built 1988 Mercedes Benz 300GD 4x4

Let the WVO debate begin!

Very cool but for $35k I'd rather have a modern G500 that can run at 75mph all day with the AC blowing cold, and pulling a boat/camping/trailer full of ATV's while doing it.

Now if it had an M117 and AC we'd be talking!

Yeah, but you're a high-falutin' developer. I'm but a step away from being a simple farmer. I don't need those fancy doo-dads.

Yeah, but those farmers worked it so they get paid not to farm.

This.

A duramax can run all day at 75mph with all my crap in tow, with the AC blowing icicles.

I'm NOT farming thousands of acres, and I'm not paid a dime for not doing it. ( I suppose they expect you actually own the land you are not farming.) I am not farming land I do not own; where's my check?

This one has been for sale for some time now.

A few things worry me about the engine conversion and cooling....
#1. I'm not seeing an expansion tank
#2. No electric cooling fan
#3 The Radiator is still the original G

The seller states This snorkel also serves as an intercooler ummm....

I'm not a fan of the fender flares or massive tires but beyond that, it's not bad! The Wolf gearbox is certainly an interesting and rare piece of equipment stateside.
