Oh, gotcha. I can only imagine what you might catch on camera!

MAny standard webcams can do the same thing, they just need their IR cut filter removed; especially if you have a few IR LEDs for lighting.

Infra Red Webcam

Make a point-and-shoot see infrared light - Hack a Day

while I like the idea of modifying something to work, I simply dont have the time. this is ready made and ready to go, Waterproof (always a plus) all I have to do is charge it (also a plus) looks like I'll have to get one and see

knowing the area I'm in..... Copious amounts of animals to the neighborhood kids... plus side of having a couple of these I can tack them up and see what does go on outside at night. I'm sure there'll be the usual hoard of deer that come through (fun to harass) who knows what else.

I don't know about that particular make and model, but the hunters buy these kinds of cameras by the 18 wheeler load it seems. A guy I drink coffee with most days, has been monitoring a bear with one and insists that he will bag the bear this weekend.

I haven't heard any complaints about any of them that these guys buy.

Let us know how it works out for you.

Will do.

first impressions are quite good, one minor disappointment is it dosnt have a standard mount for a tripod, bonus, it comes with it's own Flexipod. it can do both day and night which surprised me in a good way, the day mode is a little grainy but the night shot seems to do well. I'm gonna tack one up outside tonigt and see what traipeses through the yard.
