My Thoughts on whunter, OT

Not that it's terribly relevant to many people but it's worth mentioning all the same:
I've been an annoyance/critic of whunter's views on non-automotive subjects and he's never fired anything back ad hominem which is noteworthy. Looking back, he's actually helped me before- classy fellow that guy.
I look forward to a few return jabs in the future!

Cliffs:
I really enjoy this site and whunter is like a wacky but likable uncle.

I don't agree with Uncle Roy's political views either but I agree he is not in one's face with them and is hugely helpful with automotive matters.

We love you Roy!

I once described Roy as "a Peach Parts treasure".
Its not often that one finds a mechanic with the depth of knowledge as Roy & very humble as well.
The DD would be a much lesser place without him.
As to his politics ~ who cares?
Lets hope he continues on the forum with as much enthusiasm as he has in the past. ~ both technical & in humor.
I even had the pleasure of chatting on one of the PP forums with his daughter while she was playing with his PC. She appeared to have many of the good attributes that Roy has. ~ a sign of good parenting!!
Roy has no reason to return fire at jibes. I am confident that he realizes that any joke I poke at him is in warm humor. ~ its an Aussie thing to make fun of those you see as a friend.

I've had the distinct pleasure of meeting Roy face to face and even, sort of, working with him. He came all the way from Michigan to Texas for a Tech Session get together and worked TIRELESSLY, helping any and all comers.

In fact I talked to him on the phone a couple of weeks ago.

Not only does he have lots of general automotive savvy along with alot of MB specific savvy, he has LOTS of common sense.

Sorry to disappoint some of you, but due to his common sense he has some really good ideologies when it comes to politics too.

Poking fun at friends is not a common trait isolated to Australia. It's part of US Southern Hospitality. There are a number of people I know that would probably think that I was mad at them if I didn't throw a barb in the course of the conversation. The reverse is also true with many Texan friends.

Roy is an incredible person. Wishing I had 1% of his automotive knowledge, that would increase my knowledge by 200% If you ever get to meet Roy face to face you can feel the knowledge leaking out of him.

^^^ That's almost disgusting. Yet fascinating. Like something you'd see in a tent at an old county fair.

Roy is awesome. Without his patient guidance, I'd be anxious and stressed over a number of repairs. He has a way of diffusing the fears and helping you get a grip on what needs to be done. Then he's always available if you have ANY concerns.

Roy is awesome. One of the best resources on the forum.

How can you have developed this relationship with him since August?
Are we a troll in yet another disguise?
Maybe time for another IP search....

Happy birthday, Roy!
If I could return to the US without the fear of having my time limited, I would actually work something out with him to do tutorials in the line of **************. "Do you have this problem? Here, there's a kit with instructions on my website..."

Not trolling, I just realized that I was busting his balls at a rate that was inconsistent with good humor/grace and as willing as he was to help... keeping it real in other words.

Someday I'll send him the nicest foil hat, Alex Jones would be proud to wear it.

research away, you'll find the goofy crap I do online but my s/n is consistent across a dozen or more car forums.
