S&W Sigma SW9VE with two large capacity mags has been offered to me for an unbelievable price...$100 cash. The guy has only put two boxes through it, so it still feels and looks like it's new. He isn't too happy with the nearly 10 lb pull on the trigger. It's still in the box, and comes with a paddle holster.

Does anyone here have experience with this? I'm going out to his property tomorrow to shoot it, and probably buy it.

As long as you KNOW that is not stolen, jump on it. If you don't like it, it will make great trading material. I would be surprised if there arent' a 100 gunsmiths in your state who could make short work of making a nice crisp 3 1/2 or 4 pound trigger.

A good gun-smith can lighten up the trigger-pull, but be careful how much you drop off it. 10#s might be on that thing for a reason.

And you just might find out when you test it.

The 10#, from what I've seen, is part of the safety system...it keeps it from easily going off.

Well then my prediction of an easy 4 pound trigger might be wrong. Even so, I still say it looks as if it would be good trading material.

Its a DA trigger. Works okay when clean and oiled. Still worth a trip to a smith to wave a magic wand over.

My cop buddy says run don't walk. Sigma's are POS.

That review was VERY favorable, and gave a strong explanation for the higher trigger pull...I've read a number of them this afternoon, and missed this one. Thanks.

If it's a bit wonky feeling, I'll have a buddy of mine, who's a gunsmith, take a look at it. He's the guy that first started telling me that they were "junk", only because he remembers the .40 he bought when the design first came out. He hasn't touched one since, and has actually turned down working on them. I'll persuade him with a favor he owes me to get it right, if it needs to happen.

The price is low because he still owes me for some machining work I did for him after hours last year for a custom trigger I made for his match 1911...and that price is right for me right now.

I'll go out and shoot a box or so through it and see how it goes. Heck, I may be able to trade something out of my tool box that he's been eyeballing for awhile...something I don't need anymore. It depends on his needs tomorrow, LOL

The new ones are supposed to be much better than the first series that came out...

Not much of a pistol, good beat around gun maybe.

DAO sucks, I hate DAO guns. Sig can do an OK DAO trigger but they still are to heavy and long.

Might be good to buy for $100 if you can flip it for more and put it towards a real 9mm pistol, like a Hi Power or P226, etc.

If I flip it, it will be for another S&W 915...I prefer all steel over plastic. That's why I don't own a Glock, or any other polymer pistol. I guess it's because of the type of work I did for years...working with steel.
