What coupe should I dream about?
The main concern is looks, and having an engine bay big enough for a 617.
I've been eying the 300CD because of the classic front end and well, it's a 123 ![]() Any other suggestions? I was thinking about the possibility of a 50's domestic coupe, something with fins...

Modified...you COULD put a 617 into a 560SEC (I think at least one person here has done it)

you could make a rabbit two door RWD and have an engine that outweigh's the car its in. That might be fun.
![]() People have put V8s in Karmann Ghia's and made them RWD, so I have no doubt that this is possible

Buick Riviera. Either the one with the cool front end or the boat-tail.

I personally like the look of the old Jaguar XJ6C and XJ12C. Most of the ones I have seen have American V8s in them cause the original engine was complete crap and expensive to maintain.

The looks of the 300CD are truly classic!
As for a finned american car, you cannot beat the late fifties Dodges with the fins that block half the side windows on the rear of the station wagon!

Oh that W111 is hot!
The American coupes are great as well, although I'd probably get just a little flak for installing a German Diesel

I misread the title. I thought you were considering a coup in response to yesterday's election.

You will be ALOT safer in that 123 than anything from the 50's except maybe another MB.

Come to think of it, that was an excellent combination, american comfort and air ride, german efficiency. Big coupe did better than 30mpg and was plenty fast. Wish I still had it
