People behind the wheel.......

Moron award winner for the day......in driving through town I came to a 2 way stop. About 80 feet away parallel to the street that I am on is a siding track that is very rarely used. I am waiting at the stop sign for an oncoming car. Suddenly, the oncoming car stops very abruptly at the crossing. This is very confusing as the crossing light is not flashing and there is no train in the area. Even more confusing is that the car does not stop before the crossing. The car is stopped with the front wheels just a few inches from touching the first rail and the front end of the car over the first rail. After a few moments the car continued on. I noticed that the driver was talking on a cell phone. (I won't mention gender and hair color)

Years ago, the LIRR had a picture on a safety campaign poster showing a big old Lincoln wrapped around the front of a GP38. The caption was, "even if it's a tie, you lose".

the cell phone epidemic is amazing. I routinely drive around in a high vehicle, and its distressing to look down in random cars and have a better than even chance that you see someone texting down at the base of the steering wheel.

I had some idiot drive right between me reversing a trailer into a driveway the other day, same deal, on the phone and totally oblivious to whats going on around them.

The person drove around several stopped cars letting me get a chance to reverse in too. I guess they though those cars were parked, yapped right through forcing me to slam on the brakes before I hit their rear quarter with the trailer.

.

Tell me about it....it's times like that where I wish I could fire an EMP out of my truck against all cell phones within 500 feet.

Today I saw a late model Honda Accord almost bite it big, really big.

Moron was doing anything but what he should have been doing when he was pulling out from a stop sign onto a fast 40-50 mph two lane road. I was going the other way down and hill and saw the entire thing.

Stupid Honda driver just goes...not noticing a fully loaded tri axle that was going all of 50mph was coming, and close. Moron in Honda than decides to accelerate at his own pace. Meanwhile behind him all hell is braking lose as the driver of the dump truck is smoking his tires and brakes in an effort to not smash into the Honda and destroy it.(this truck just left a construction site I know and from the looks of it probably had 20T of blast rock on it) Truck came so close to the car it look like a hit, and than the moron behind the wheel of the Honda decided to take a look at what he just did...never realized he was within seconds of probably getting killed. He must of been on the phone because he didn't hear the trucks horn, tires, brakes and look to see all the smoke until it was almost over.

If I was the driver of that truck I would have had a few words with him at the next light. If he pulled out a few seconds later that truck would have rolled right over that car and killed anyone inside.

You, apparently, don't get it.

It doesn't matter.

They can, and will, continue to drive like the intellectually compromised individuals that they are. There is absolutely no consequences of doing so, unless they end up dead. That would be excellent.
