I'm too young for this crap...

2 weeks ago, my stepson called and told us his wife was pregnant...Thursday, my 19 year old daughter told me that she was pregnant too.

This will be the first "real" grandchild for me. I was hoping that she would wait until she married, but she's always gone against the grain, and does what she wanted, regardless of what her dear old dad said.

I'm tool young for this crap....

Congrats. It's really irrelevant whether someone in a funny costume blesses the situation or not.

umm, Happy Thanksgiving !!:)

I sincerely hope it all works out for your 19yr old for the sake of the child.

Why not for HER sake as well. Or do you believe in the religious horse-poop that sex outside of marriage is somehow evil?

Love her and support her in her choice no matter how wrong it seems to you. I guarantee you you will love the grandchild just as much as if blessed with marriage first.

And no one told her about birth control?

She was on the pill and taking an antibiotic for a sinus infection...apparently she didn't read the warning about that.

I really wished that she would have waited, but it is what it is. I'm proud of her decision to keep the baby, that for certain...I'm not crazy about the father or the father's lack of ambition. He seems to like his video games more than the real world.

I'm really not crazy about the idea of changing how I wear my clothes. I just don't think wearing checkered pants to my armpits is going to look good on me...

This gives her 7 months to find a job with insurance...my health insurance will carry her, but drop the baby after 30 days.

Nothing wrong with a little one and hopefully the dad takes responsibility.

We're hoping for the same...My ex wants me to strangle him now, which I'm in agreement of doing, but I'm willing to wait to see what he does. The ball is in his court...

hopefully he steps up. nothing pisses me off more than a father that wont take responsibility. my inlaws hated me,and when my wife got preg. out of wedlock they hated me even worse. at 21 with a baby on the way, i never once though of leaving her side. that little boy was the single greatest thing to ever happen to me.

I had the same situation when I was 19...However, it took almost 10 years for her parents to talk her into leaving me. Honestly, if it wasn't for her dad, I'd still be married to her. I need to send him a thank you card...:D

In all seriousness...I ended up with 3 generally good kids out of the deal. I won't meddle in my daughter's relationships unless she's being abused or he's generally mistreating her. I hated when my ex's dad did it to me, so I won't do it to my kids. I will, however, warn this young man about what will happen if he tries to run...the courts WILL attach every penny he makes for the next 18 years, no matter how small a paycheck he gets.
