Porsche Suv?

Remember where you heard it first, Porsche Cayenne, 0-62 in 5.6 seconds...

Its cool and all, but isn't a porsche supposed to be a sports car? nto a sports truck? ehhe

To me porsche has always been a sports car.

It is still pretty cool SUV, probably nicer than most out there.

Howdy Alon,
Well if Lamborghini can have an SUV(LM2) It's not much of a stretch for Porche I just can't wait for the next one; Aston Martin Vanquish OR (off road). Or how about the Maserati Spyder XRC (xtreme rock crawler)

Give it a few years......

It will probably go the way of the 914 or 968 and won't last too long in the model lineup, let's hope

Pretty harsh words....

"Porsche. Next up for those madcap geniuses from Zuffenhausen? The long-awaited Porsche sedan. It's supposed to help spread the costs out on the new V8 developed for the Cayenne. As we speak, Porsche PR operatives are frantically searching Porsche's archives to find the vehicle that will confirm that a Porsche sedan is a "natural" for them."

mmmmmmmm......I guess the "Porsche PR operatives" will be looking for a way to rebadge the 500E a Porsche!

Lets all remember Porsche has been making 4-wheel systems for a long time. At the Porsche dealer meeting, dealers were told this will be the best on-road and off-road vehicle in the market.

Scott: Thanks for the post. What next? MB making a SUV? Heh Heh Heh

Alon: 2 words: Market Share

Frank: I never cease to be amazed at the knowledge you have! Where can I see pix of the Maserati XRC??? Doesn’t Lotus also make a kind of dune buggy UV?

John S: “Sucks way bad” – it is so like you to drag out this term when a SUV is mentioned!

El Prez. “Give it a few years......” a fair statement, for anything except perhaps the 911 which is sometimes known as a Carerra 4….

Chicagoland: Yes! I debated getting a C4. My only beef with Porsche, and it’s a bigge, is the near complete lack of service their “service” department provides. Ultimately that’s why I sold my 928… and now have 2 MBs

Howdy Tracy,
Pics!ˇ Only in my head. I don't think they will do a factory SUV. But someone some where will. I have seen Caddys, Cameros, Vegas and Vettes. So who knows

But think of the buyers - with the new toy you can have both a (sports) car and suv!

Of course, no one does that, do they.....

Let's go back to Longston's marketing 101 class. The reason Porsche is building this SUV is not vanity but the good ol' $$$$.

Lamborghini had a truck that was a derivative of the Lamborghini military special. Lets face it Lamborghini builds tractors. Does this devalue it’s car’s? Is the Countach or Diablo not a "true" sports car?

Porsche should be very successful with this truck although I think they are 3-4 years behind. A Porsche wagon might be a bit more desirable in the next couple years but who knows.

Personally in a year or two when prices come down, I just might be showing up at the duck marsh in one!
