Spotted a part I need on ebay.

073 33071 314, valve lock nut for $2.60 ea plus $8.95 for shipping.

$11.55 for a nut ???

Sooo, I checked the price / shipping for 4 nuts.

$10.40 for the nuts and .... $35.80 for shipping.

$46.20 for 4 nuts ????

I msg'ed them and it was suggested I check their site which I did.
The same $10.40 for the nuts and shipping dropped to $20.63

Id go to McMaster Carr but I dont know the size of the nut.

I msg'ed him back with their site and got this in return. Makes you wonder how many people they have screwed over the years with their BS freight charges. At least Dan seems to have a wee bit of interest in the issue.

I felt pretty well boned when I paid 15 bucks plus a few for mailing when I bought a new plastic hood release thingy for the 240D. I had pulled a couple off old wrecks and they were so hardened they snapped in half. Finally bit the bullet.
Worse was a bolt set for the oil pan. Nearly a buck a bolt and there were 20 or so in the set. Maybe 18. I forget. Stunning never the less.

As it was pointed out to me, our 14mm wrench sized nuts are special made.

Standard metric nuts dont come with 14mm flats.
