***** ass punk cop shoots puppy

"A North Side family is furious over what they claim was an unjustified police shooting of their 7-month-old miniature bull terrier, Colonel Phillips, known to the neighborhood as "The Colonel." "

"Residents are also upset, not just because police shot a puppy they all knew, but also because the shooting occurred not far from a preschool, on a street where pedestrians including children could have been hurt."

WHAT KIND OF PUSSY SHOOTS A ****ING PUPPY? WITH THE OWNERS THERE?
If it were my dog, I would still be in jail........

Cop acted like nothing had happened after the shooting? Psychopath much?

Wonder when he'll move on to "bigger" game -- just what CPD needs; a budding serial killer.

Or he has some kind of personal vendetta against the family that no one is talking about.

I read this story earlier this morning...it breaks my heart to see how callous that cop was. For them to come back 3 days later and then ticket the owner for not having the dog on a leash blows my mind.

I hadn't heard anything about the story before reading this thread. From JP's last statement, I think it's safe to say that whoever passed the local laws and is standing by the cop are not exactly what could be called animal lovers.

looks like a pretty one sided story to me. Lets wait and see what the cop says. Maybe the dog was acting agressive or seemingly so and he thought he had to do it. Its amazing how scared people can be of dogs when they don't know them.

My mother used to own an english bulldog, and you would be amazed at how many people assumed the dog was on the attack when it came running barking at them with a trail of slobber.

There was no malice in the dog and it was simply friendly, but on more than one occasion people would jump up on a nearby trash bin to avoid what they assumed was an attack.

He didn't kill the dog though, so fortunately it wasn't as bad as it could be. Ill reserve judgement on the cop until we have more info personally

Exclamation An OCC complaint against the SFPD

I saw one of the Office of Citizens Complaints against the SFPD once when the Judge in San Francisco felony court assigned to read a big stack of them was laughing at one of them.

The complainant stated that the SFPD responded at about 10:30PM one night in Miraloma Park to complaints of a dog barking .. it was the complainant's dog "Bernie" a Doberman I think.. When one of the several SFPD officers approached the dog, it growled at him. The complaint stated that the cops all then went after the dog with their sticks ("batons") and flashlights and beat the dog, and arrested the complainant.

Then, the Policemen all stood around joking about the beating the dog and were all singing "How Much Is That Doggie in the Window?"

A "gated home"? wtf?

The article does not explain whether the dog was inside any fence or outside. If owner let dog outdside fence, that was an error in judgement, imo. Not a reason to shoot dog however. If dog was inside any fence, no reason in the world for the shooting.

We need a good Chicago community organizer to tackle this one.

As shole cop fired and a nice fat settlement for the ruined career of a verifiable potential show dog. If his sire was a champion the case can be made that he was potentially one too. Years of big stud fees down the tubes. Vet bills, pain and suffering. Ca-ching!

Sorry, he's already employed. Lives in a big house at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Plus, the perp gets placed on full paid administrative leave from the Department for a month or two, and has to go and talk to a Police psychiatrist a few times about how it "feels" to have shot up a puppy dog with his service weapon.

Does the idea of a black man living in a White house trouble you a little?
