What is the cost to those who voted in favor of a Palestinian State? Are they just taking someone else's property and giving it away? How magnanimous and noble of them!

At least there is precedent.

There was precedent for taking land from other nations and giving it to a group of nationless people established when Isreal was created, and we see how well that worked out. Somehow, I feel that this issue will still be with us for quite some time.

The resolution elevates their status from "non-member observer entity" to "non-member observer state,".......
Does this mean that they will now be able to shoot rockets at Israel from Gaza?

Great news! So in another 60 years they might get to "member State" status.

Maybe before that enough people will realize this religion racket is the reason our world is in the mess it is. And if we're really lucky, these children in the ME can learn to share and play fair with one another.

Eitherway, I hope we (US) stay out of this - except for our useless protests.

Isn't this action similar to 3 chickens and a pig voting to serve the farmer a breakfast of ham and eggs?

The sad thing is that, in the year 2000 at least, it was in the Republican platform to withdraw from the UN, but there haven't been any of the spineless Republican politicians with enough character to even PROPOSE such a thing.

We need to withdraw from the UN and tell them to go build a meeting place somewhere outside the US and turn the UN building into affordable housing.

Why? Because the UN/GA happens to be right in this instance?

I'm not sure I can find the logic in that. What I said pertained to 12 years ago. How could it have anything directly to do with THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE?

Okay Speed, I'll respond to your question.

I have basically turned into an isolationist in the last 8 years or so. The UN continually votes on where the world should be policed and who needs the foreign aid money and then expects the US to provide 99% of it.

If I were King, so to speak, I would withdraw the US from the UN, chase them off our shores, make affordable housing out of the UN building or bull doze it if that is not practical, would bring the military home to guard our borders and would stop paying ANY foreign aid to ANYone.

That would make hardship for many Americans initially, but if free enterprise were allowed to work unfettered, but properly regulated, the US would be thriving after breaking its addiction to the foreign economy.
