It surprised me.

Population density?

Cellphone towers?

MS Fowler 12-07-2012 12:52 PM

electricity use?

SwampYankee 12-07-2012 12:54 PM

Boxers (light) vs. briefs (dark)?

Might not be their intent, but it sure looks like a good representation of population density to me.

I don't have time to respond to this right now. I have to hurry out and grab some fast food.

Average orgasm frequency per 1000 population between 10 pm and 12 am EST on a Saturday evening in November.

DING DING DING!!! We have a winner. Kudos!

That represents McDonald's locations as of 2010 (in a sense it certainly reflects population density...maybe in both senses of the term? :D).

To put it into perspective, very, very few people in the lower 48 are more than 100 miles from a McDonald's.

The coordinates N 45.45955 W 101.91356 identify a spot in South Dakota that has the peculiar distinction of being the McFarthest point in the lower 48 states. The nearest McDonald’s is 107 miles away, as the crow flies, or 145 miles away, traveling by car.

^^^

If only all of the locations were lit up in flames...

cmac2012 12-07-2012 01:53 PM

Holy crap, that's sorta scary.

Amazing coincidence between Mcd's and Blue vs Red states. Probably related to IQ. Dumb people don't go to McD's before watching FoxNews.

Nah, they go to K.F.C. :)

My guess WAS going to be that it was a representation of how unbalanced we are as a country, but MickeyDs' will do... :puke:

Now that it has been pointed out, it makes sense. You can actually see some of the Interstate highways. I guess McD doesn't like to let anyone travel very far on a thoroughfare without Ronald standing there to wave at them as they pass.
