*** SNF - Will Costas Demand Americans To Give Up Alcohol? ***

After last week's scolding of 2nd Amendment believers and anyone that owns any firearm, will "Uncle Bob" have the "guts/nads" to take on the 2nd "Great Satan" and go after alcohol?

Hell.."it" killed one promising footballer this weekend and put the "accomplice in the klink so he couldn't play with his buddies and help them defeat their opponents today.

Oh...wait...did anyone write a column/piece last night/this morning that Costas could read and use as a crutch for his convoluted logic?

I guess we'll have to see at half-time tonight...won't we?

Costas decried the "gun culture" and said it is responsible for all the evils of gon ownership. Like most gun-grabbers, he failed to appreciate the times ( often undocumented) when the presence, or even the threat of the presence of a gun halts violence. For him, its a one-sided argument where he, alone, speaks.

One of the many points that Costas ( and his ilk--love that word!)fail to realize, is that THEY are protected by men with guns. Certainly the building that houses his office has armed security. Probably his chauffeur. If he lives in a gated community, or highrise, there is some sort of security there. Same goes for the politicians who want guns taken from everyone else--except the people who protect them.

I rarely watch football any more, but I would be surprised if they don't advertise alcoholic beverages somewhere in their broadcasts. I doubt that they advertise firearms during their broadcasts.

Follow the money.

Sports writers and commentators used to work in that narrow box of merely reporting on the game or event they were covering. Slowly and surely, there came the next generation of journalist who looked further than the field of play, the hero interviews and romantic glamor of sport and reported on social and political issues of "the game."
