Holy crap... this looks scary

Snow and ice make China's Mount Hua pilgrimage especially dangerous.

Check out the three planks on the side of a mountain with a 1 mile drop. No freaking way I would be on that.

I'd do that long before I'd face El Camino Del Rey (watch it all, but it gets really ugly after about 2:30):

El Camino del Rey - Most dangerous Trail of the World - YouTube

But in reality I'd die of a heart attack before I really got started with either of them.

Finally, you posted something I can completely agree with...No way in hell I'd be on that. I hate heights.

There are suburban housewives dressed for the mall in some of those pictures. What's up with that?

When you are young enough and have no feelings of being mortal. It is far less daunting.

Everything is old and disentigrating on the chinese pathway. This alone is a further risk. I would have not liked to be an individual carrying the ingredients up to make concrete when it was constructed initially.

It also suprises me that it has not been at least maintained over the years as there is little vegatation growth on the paths. I wonder over time just how many people have perished using it. This knowledge would probably be local in nature ..Winter conditions could make it almost suicidal.

I bet it's exhilarating, to say the least.

I’d be more inclined to hike the trail than to be one of the people who do repairs.

i dont know, the camino one is scary as hell, but most of those tightrope situations are at least on an I beam. The whole thing looks in such disrepair though, wow.

The Chinese trail though is way higher in those pics, and the planks are really alarming

I wonder how they ever set that up in the first place, going up there for hundreds of years. amazing stuff

The height is one thing. The fact that you are that high up on three planks of wood that are who knows how old put in the rock wall by who knows who using who knows what method is just knucking futs. My nuts go up my back side just looking at it.

"Holy" crap is very apt for this pilgrimage!

Scariest part is...these are all made in China.
