"Walk, Don't run", and its remake ( also by the Ventures), "Walk, Don't run '64" were staples of every garage band for decades.

Yes. Can you guess when the remake " '64" was released?

People, places and the past, music is an awesome reuniter of all 3 .The gold record awarded to the Ventures in years past was included in with the general at this event , a classey act of brotherhood showing their humble beginnings as an american born rock band.

Years ago I had a conversation with a guy who had been instructed to bring his favorite album to class as a part of a musical tastes example. This was his Senior year in high school, in 1969.

He bought the Ventures 'Golden Greats' which features a female model in a gold bikini on the cover and, I think, an inside flap.

This became a very big deal as he was accused of bringing 'lewd' material to school. During a hearing with his Parents it became clear it was the Venture's music that the Teacher had a problem with, the cover was secondary. He said the Principal called a halt to the hearing as it was clear the Teacher had overreacted.

I realize it is too late to save most of you from the evil of the Venture's music. I know my brain was destroyed by it long ago, but if relating this story helps only one person survive the ravages of Boogy-Woogy music it will be worth the telling.

Idle,
Thanks for explaining the reasons behind your (sometimes) erroneous views.

This '60's clip has sound dubbed over the video. Note the drums beats don't match the drummer's movement. The drummer in the clip probably isn't Babbitt.

Funny stuff.

I get on here for fun.

I work for a living.

Since no one here is paying for my advice they are free to do with it as they will, but if I sense a customer is not being serious I will withdraw my services. If they are not willing to follow my advice then I am not willing to be tied to a company failure.

When a client is so rigid in their thinking they lose sight of the fact that a business exist to turn a profit then their ego has set them on the path to economic destruction.

If there is only one valid viewpoint it would have been found by someone smarter than myself. As far as I know such a viewpoint does not exist.

I have been told many times, "It is my money and I will run this company the way I think it should be run." My answer is always that it is clear they don't need me if they currently have all the answers, and they will be receiving a invoice for my expenses.

It was great music. My mom had a relatively cheap Lowry Chord Organ. It certainly was no Hammond B3 but it was the best I could do, but I taught myself the chorus to Telstar. Great memories.

While I recognize that the Hammond B3 was a great instrument in the 50s and 60s and beyond, the organ snob in me blanches at calling it an "organ". As E.Power Biggs remarked in his album on the Organ, since they lack pipes, they cannot be called organs. Snobbery has its demands, you know.
