New Business idea- Golf Car repair

There are a lot of retirement communities where I live. Many have golf cars. I am thinking of getting into the golf car repair biz.

I have asked Santa for an EZ-Go shop manual for christmas. I plan to study it over the winter and open shop in the spring.

What do yall think? It can't be that difficult to get into. I think....

There are a number of businesses in this general area that repair, rebuild, buy & sell golf cars. This is in addition to the bonafide EZ Go and Club Car dealers.

About fifteen years ago I bought a refurbished Club Car for under $1,000 from an outfit in Shreveport that bought old fleets from various clubs. They refurbished them and sold them as well as doing lots of repair and refurbishment work for the public.

In the right place it could definitely be a viable small business.

make an offer on this one Ben

The guy that owns it has asked me to sell it for him. He wanted me to put it on ebay but since you are considering I figured I'd offer it up to you. It needs batteries so the price is low. Let me know what you would want to give for it.

I heard third hand stories about a guy who buys all of the used golf carts from rental companies, golf couses, hotels, etc. It's ok. Puts you in the battery business and almost in the realm of EVs. Batteries and environmental legal issues need more than an offhand look.

it sounds like an excellent field to enter. The boomers are retiring and a lot of us play golf. it cannot be that much of a leap from your small engine repair business, though the golf carts will take up more room than a lot of mowers.
