No, yes, and yes. But what is your point? Stealing or whatever the crime puts me in difficulty. As I understand it, society cannot function if it is lawless. Therefore, we cannot steal, kill, etc, etc. Rules were laid down to prevent chaos. This was never explained to me. I reasoned it out myself. I don't go off "Mom, Dad, Teacher, Uncle, etc, etc said I cannot steal, kill, rape, etc, etc.". I reasoned that the law was to keep the society intact by preventing us from infringing on other's rights. That is the price we have to pay for living in a society. We cannot infringe on others or society cannot function.

That is a rough explanation but I know why I don't do something or do something and it has little to do with "Because I was told". More like "I reasoned why" as opposed to "I was brought up". The latte tells me that you swallowed the lesson wholesale without understanding why you are doing something. Relying on what the last person said.
