Due to the general lack of knowledge about firearms on the part of the media and my own general curiosity, I wish they would simply report the make and model of firearm used in an incident rather than attempting to describe it.

Fault the State Police if you will, but I fail to see how you can assign blame to the media reporting the information they were given regarding the incident.

IIRC, I heard that one of the boys killed had six wounds in him. I don't know from nuthin about guns, but that tends to leave me with the impression that they were fired from a semi- or automatic weapon unless he stood over the boy and pulled a pistol trigger 6 times? Is that very likely?
