I did a stupid risky thing
while driving to the local mb dealership to get a part, the slowpoke in front of me driving a piece of crap rusted volvo wagon pulls into the turn lane without signalling and drives the same speed on the turn lane past many other driveways, im guessing hes aiming to go to the mb dealership (which also handles volvo); quarter mile to go, so impatiently I gun the engine, pull in front of him, speed up so he cant rear-end me and ready to make my turn
...oops...im now going really fast and its a hair pin turn...i figure i can make it so i crank the steering wheel and notice that the 30 degree down-sloped driveway is covered in gravel and dirt from snow storms - its great for traction on snow and ice, really slippery on dry pavement - and that there is about $2 million worth of new mb's and volvo's freshly displayed on the lot that im about to crash out of control into...i jam on the breaks bracing to go out of control and pray to the insurance God for clemancy.
what a machine! stayed solid as a rock and handled precisely; i glided into the dealer like a cloud, though the salesman looked very troubled as he talked to some client about financing
in other cars ive driven, i would have for shure lost the back end and smashed into something...is this the benefit of abs braking system? its an '88 300 e...maybe thats what so great about them, they come through in the crunch (or avoided crunch)
unbelievable
