Holocaust much larger than previous known.

"What they have found so far has shocked even scholars steeped in the history of the Holocaust."

Back in the 60's I was talking to a guy who helped liberate some of these camps. Then he got involved in administration of the displaced persons after the war.

He was telling me about this camp and that camp and I asked him just how many there were. I don't remember the number he told me, but he ended his statement with, "That we know about."

He figured the real number would never be known since so many of the sites were 'behind the wall' as Eastern Europe was referred to at the time, but he had no doubt that there had been many more Camps in use than anyone had found up to that date.

We know about the nazis and their atrocities but non of that could have happen so smoothly and efficient with out the help of the bureaucrats in some of the occupied countries. In French and Holland it was mostly the local police who rounded up the Jews and the Dutch and French railroad companies that transported them to the camps. In Amsterdam it was even so bad; the city bureaucrats had already mapped out where every single jewish family lived. All the Germans had to do was walk into the city archive...

I recently found concentration camp records from Dachau for a man with my name. Kinda spooky. Don't yet know if he was related or for what he was arrested.

When I was a boy living in Atlanta I remember watching the Eichmann trial reported on TV and asked another boy why people were so upset over something so long ago. "They killed my whole family!", he responded.

A try at World domination via military means from the Germans vs a World manipulation already in place via Zionizm and Marxism. Hitler convincingly rallied the German people to believe that a threat to their society was at hand .Hitlers beliefs along with all his weirdness was that the German people were being threatened by Jews which had in place an international conspiracy of finance against Germany ,he also viewed Marxian Socialism as a threat against German culture on the other front. This loud and very public figure contrived and generated a view of Germany as a great race of people who would own the world .In Todays leaders around the world its sad to say the public is still open to manipulation in this same manner but the most dangerous or the closed societies .

War ends when the race of mankind dies off completely. We have been fighting since who knows when. Today, the fight is about oil, then it was about land, previously it was about water, etc, etc. I am convinced that even if we had paradise where we have everything we could possibly want, we'd still find a reason to fight. It is in our nature.

Entry into WWII (for the United States) was about oil, too. The Japanese attacked the USA because we embargoed oil to Japan as it was trying to consolidate its colonization of China. The Dutch were doing the same from their colonies in what is now Indonesia.

Germany's thrust to Stalingrad was about oil, too.

Life needs energy (including food) water, resources, and habitat. All life, from bacteria to humans, will fight for whichever of those is limiting its growth. In the case of humans, we justify it later through historical rationalization. Winners write history.

Immediately after being liberated from the nazis the Dutch started a bloody colonial war in Indonesian; the irony.

Bingo -- expansionism and nationalism. My great-aunt who wasn't Jewish ended up in a death camp (I believe Ravensbruck) and was experimented on by Nazi quacks. Fortunately, she survived and is alive and well today. (When I last saw her a few years back, she was 92, living on her own in Krakow, and could almost out-walk me ) Amazing tough old broad -- sadly, her brother (my grandfather) wasn't so lucky. He died fighting with the resistance in a small mountain town, leaving my grandmother and my mother, who was two years old at the time.

I guess what I was trying to say was that what we fight over changes but the fact that we will always fight won't change. That is why when people say we need to curb our oil addiction because it causes wars, it amuses me. Before oil was an issue, we were still fighting. Even if oil becomes a non-issue, we will still be at war. Only this time, it will be something else. I believe if we all went to solar power, we'd still find a reason to fight. It is just in the blood.

Why? As I have said before, it is the nature of human beings to do things like that. Give them the means and watch them go.
