The first true super car and one of the most beautiful car I can think of designed by Bertone. To bad the engine was designed to self-destruct when running idle.

I saw that. Sad. I would think that someone driving around with a classic like that would have a fire extinguisher or two in the car for emergencies. I feel bad for the loss of a rare car like that but have little sympathy for someone who has $600k to throw around but does not spend a few bucks to help preserve it.

I have seen one with an automatic fire extinguisher build in the engine bay with a push button on the dash for that special moment every Miura knows will come one day.

Is something like this rebuildable?

I guess if a regular Miura upgraded to a SV sold at RM Auctions in Pebble Beach, Calif., for $660,000, how much is a real SV worth?

You'd think something like this could be rebuilt and still be room for profit.

I think all you need is a VIN tag and open checkbook. Miuras are very much in demand and just about anything can be rebuilt.

Id think you could build from scratch for less than $400,000 so with some salvagable parts from the burned hulk prolly less.

Oh to be some guy in a shop across the street with a cheapo fire extinguisher.

I guess it could be rebuilt, not sure what the heat will have done to the engine components - the metal parts that is. It gets that hot while running but the heat is siphoned off continually (well duh).

I saw one of those at the Palo Alto auto show a few years back. Way cool.
