Pray about your problems and get some sleep. You WILL have a different outlook on things tomorrow.

I've often wondered about the energy in the air on FRIDAY. Seems if it was meant to go wrong or break it always happens on Friday. It's weird.

Do you have the car for sale now? Was it the "thousand dollar" '99 E300 from hell? I'm reading so many terrible things about the W210 diesels here, that they may make good salvage yard material. Details on how a radiator on an MB "blows?"

No. Despite the issues i've had with mine, it's more due to the lack of care from the PRev. owner and just age that is up. I still really like the W210, it's a great car, comfortable and powerful and great fuel economy.

As for the rad blowing.... the side tanks on the radiator are apparently plastic and from what I was told at the dealership and at the repair center I use, that 10 years or about 100-150K miles they just... Let go, the whole side seam just let go, I was turning right, heard what I thought was hitting the pothole in the road, Was heading to the hospital to pick my mum up, got almost all the way there and all of a sudden the cluster beeps and says loo coolant. Car was not overheating at all, I drove to the hospital keeping an eye on the temp just to make sure I diddnt overheat. Made an absolute mess of the parking lot where I parked, mess on the wrecker and mess in the parking lot at the repair shop.... one of those things 'designed to fail' sort of things I guess.... Still like the car though. I got a screaming good deal on it... just hate some of the problems. seems like the beginning of each month another little problem crops up and I'm out of a car for awhile..... I was told that I'd have it back monday... Time will tell...

Where the plastic tank retaining clips on different manufactures rads. In our rustbelt I apply a little really heavy grease to them. It seems to help retain the strength of those retainers. I think they just weaken over the years with corrosion and will no longer grip well enough.

Good thinking, J! Sometimes you just need to step back and take a deep breath. Keep on fighting!
