Real surprise, surprise

It's now coming out that Tamerlan's death may not have been the result of being gunned down, but that his brother ran him over with the SUV. (Dzhokhar also may have tried to commit suicide, causing the serious throat injury that as yet still prevents his speaking.)

Assuming Dzhokhar did run over his brother, the LEOs that tackled Tamerlan must have bruised their gargantuan cojones in doing so, since the reports are that Tamerlan had explosives on his chest, apparently equipped as a suicide bomber. The cops were trying to arrest him when the SUV closed in, and the LEOs jumped free.

makes sense, don't let him be taken alive by the infidels, esp if the younger brother thought that he could escape. The older had a lot of bullet holes in him, though. saw the leaked morgue photo....

unknown, but it is certainly not outside the realm of possibility.

His brother said, "Hey, give me a run-down!"

Done.

I was under the impression that the younger brother was aiming for the gaggle of Police he saw in front of him and when they jumped out of the way the older brother could not move and the younger brother could not miss him.

My focus here is that the driver was trying to kill and injure more Police in anyway he could. Perhaps he could have gone in a different direction and just set off a chase, but the lure of all those targets in one spot was too much for him to ignore.

After all, this guy was doing all he could to spread terror for terror's sake. They had already killed one Cop in cold blood so a few more would not have mattered to them.

The reality, for me anyway, is how hard it is to wrap my head around what they were doing. I really don't see any point to it all, but maybe the pointlessness of it all is the real truth behind their actions.

By the way.....

If anyone in their line of 'work' thinks they will be remember as Hero's I know of a real life couple that inspired a lot of terror in their time.

Bonnie and Clyde rampaged up and down through my neck of the woods. They broke into National Guard Armories to steal weapons, shot up people for no reason and left a trail of dead behind them. The Dalton gang also operated around here, which is eastern Oklahoma.

There is a small city near here where a Cop stopped them for speeding. They must have really been flying since the highways then were dirt and it was impossible to go more than 30 mph. They shot him dead, took his weapon, and just kept on going.

None of these folks are remembered as anything other than savage killers and everyone was glad the day they were killed.

There might not have been the outpouring of relief like there was in Boston, but the old timers tell he everyone was laughing when they heard the news about Bonnie and Clyde.
