WHAAaaaaaa...... you mean a new car that has a problem? Wow, that's never happened before has it?

Maybe I should have sued MB because of all the problems that I had with my 2001 C240.

Mercedes isn't a "push over" when it comes to litigation. Check your history books for the lawsuits for bursting heater cores made by Bosch, I believe. All the other brands settled, like BMW, VW and Volvo. Mercedes went to trial and won.

The Street doesn't seem worried. F is up ~3% in mid-day trading.

BTW, I find this trend in todays auto world, of gving engines a buzzword name to be irritating. Duramax, Ecoboost, Triton V8, Power Stroke, V-Tech, North Star, etc., How about something like 5.0 Liter Injected V8, or Turbocharged Diesel V8? You know, something descriptive.

you are objecting to engine branding now?

Since when is this a new thing? Does not bother me in the least, since its been going on since the dawn of time, assuming the engine is a good power plant, a branded name makes perfect sense and allows a manufacturer to say a lot with just a name.
For instance, the name Power-Stroke means a lot as a generation of excellent engines, same with all the others. Duramax, V-tech, all calling cards loaded with info.

What about the Oldsmobile fire dome, the desoto rocket, the super six, the max wedge, the super commando, magnum, TNT, cobra jet, super cobra jet, ect ect?

Lets throw out transmission branding too while you are complaining, do away with Torqueflite, Powerglide, and Turbo Hydromatic.

lets call all these 3-5 speed automatic transmissions. Of all the stupid things to gripe about, branding is a new one for you.

Today's auto world? Surely you're kidding. Naming engines has been around at least since the 50s...Crossflow, Firepower, Liberty, Tempest, Trophy, etc.

You wanna talk about stupid things to gripe about? How about griping about other peoples personal preferences?

Can you show me even ONE of the buzzword names that you listed that is actually DESCRIPTIVE? You can't! They are nothing but marketing stupidity. They describe NOTHING.

Technically, the power strokes go through a power stroke while burning the fuel...

*ducks* *flame suit on*

Yes, due to the Power Stroke patent, no other engine should be allowed to have a power stroke. Makes all the others a three cycle engine.
