Dang, that's tough to watch. Not nice to find fault with the officer but jeez, doing the pepper spraying that way and casaully turning his back was obviously not prudent.

^The nature of the officer's interactions in the video were beyond reason.

I would not want a cop to be shot or shot at, and while they have a horrid job to do, there are overwhelming numbers of abuses recorded by police against all kinds of people now available for our viewing on the web.

There needs to be sweeping reforms to how these people do their jobs.

As the first video shows, if it walks like a duck….

You don't need to...just memorize the statute, get a camera and walk around with a gun until you're harassed by a cop.

Personally, I think it's a pretty dumb point to prove.

You appear to have no problem with him placing his life on the line to protect yours. And yet, you sit back with your cable TV remote in hand while munching leftist popcorn and dis the man. Unbelievable.

Just saw that one. Holy crap, that cop even walked like a dimwatted ass. Un-freakin-believable. About 3 or 4 seconds went down between him telling that doddering simple looking fellow to drop the knife and him firing about 5 times in rapid succession.

The officer was forced to resign, and this after being essentially condemned by the review board.

It had a weird, special significance for me as I drove cab in Seattle for so long that I was virtually certain that was Boren Ave, going up the hill from uptown and upon further searching the story, that was confirmed. I've been past that intersection 100s of times.

On the law student, I didn't like the guy's attitude, legally correct or otherwise. Cops have a tough job and open carry makes it tougher IMHO. A guy in Las Vegas, West Point grad and former officer, got shot by a group of cops outside of a Costco, after having been told that firearms were not allowed in the store, and him telling the security guard that he had a right to conceal-carry. An employee had spotted his holster and weapon when his shirt fell open. He shouldn't have been shot (and killed) but he was.

Open carry is generally legal in the state of Nevada, however it's more accepted some places than others. While it's legal for me to do so, I wouldn't walk down the street openly carrying in downtown Carson, much less Reno or Vegas, unless I had a strong practical reason for doing so. Out in the rural areas, lots of people do it, and nobody cares except for the occasional recent arrival from California who doesn't know it's normal here. If for some reason I was open carrying in town, and the police approached me, I would cooperate fully.
