End of the road for Miguel and his Panamerican expedition. Big wreck

I'm sure he will post later when he can, but the crazy roads in South America claimed another victim. Truck was in the wrong lane, hit the 300TD, sending it into a tree and rolling down an embankment.

This is all that's left. Miguel got out with minor injuries.

Oh my god! That's horrible!

I am absolutely sure the Mercedes wagon saved his life...

I look forward to his safe return - as it's not too likely he'd want to resume the southward journey.

If you are reading this, I and all your friends, Miguel, are thinking of you and wish you all the best!

Hijo de la chingada that looks scary. So glad he's alright. Any idea where he is? Hopefully no legal stickiness...

Oh God! I am so glad he is OK. I cannot believe that this was a "and he walked away from it" kind of crash. Somebody was looking out for him.

It is a shame that the car is a total loss, but it can be replaced.

Thumbs up And THIS, is the main reason I choose to drive a Mercedes-Benz........

He can be thankful that he chose a Mercedes-Benz to be in when this happened. Although tragic, it's quite a testament/testimonial to the brand. This car saved his life. I don't think many Asian and most other American cars/SUVs/ or trucks could or would have fared too well in this wreck. Tragic. Glad to read that Miguel is OK.

Rescue fund?

On the serious side, lets set up a website to collect for him....then he can tell us exactly what he needs to continue his journey. There are so many of us here that if we each contribute a small amount he should be able to do whatever he needs to continue.

I have no clue how to do this but would be happy to help in any way I can.
