They're going up.
I've noticed over the last year or two as I peruse the ads in my two major catchment areas, Phoenix and LA, that prices of 123's have started to rise inexorably. Looks like the they have bottomed out and the era of the "cheap" classic is coming to an end. Anybody else have the same observation or is it just me?
- Peter.

about the same around here, if anything still going down. Of course, being in the rust belt, clean ones still command a pretty penny. In Philly hipsters just ride bikes.

It's just supply and demand.
Everyday 123's are taken off the road due to rust or accidents and everyday there is someone new looking for one. I noticed they started to rise about three years ago. What I once bought for $1,200 is now pushing $3,000. Even 114 and 115 are starting to rise, but 108 are staying steady. I think a 108 or 109 is just more trouble than most people are able to put up with, and their rather poor mpg is not helping them. But I see that as good news since I doubt that maintaining a 108 or 109 would present much of a challenge to those that are regulars on this forum. |
