7 Stylish Cars You Cant Buy In The US | Bankrate.com

Quote:
You always want what you can't have. If that old adage is true, these cars might be the most desirable of autos to U.S. consumers because none of them are available here.

But it's not just their manufacturers' indifference to the U.S. market that makes them attractive. Most cars on the list are diesel or come with a diesel option. They get great fuel mileage, are stylish and offer some enticing features. They aren't slouches in performance, either.
Americans don't want diesel cars. BS.

Most articles about US fuel economy don't mention diesel cars.

Enough rain for today already.

Those are all imperial MPG figures I'm pretty sure. Still lots of cool stuff, diesel mini would be awesome, but people always forget that there are two different gallons.

Stylish? I think not. They all look like a soap bubble in a wind tunnel.

What a list of hopeless crappy cars (with possibly the exception of the Audi A1 that I haven't driven) - anything that is French is by definition crap and will fall apart in about 6 months - the Ford KA? Give me a ****ing break - total rubbish...

...consider yourselves lucky not to be afflicted by such junk.

I like the Peugeot 508 and the Citroen DS5 at least from the 3/4 view. No idea what the insides look like.

There's a ~300 hp Ford Focus on the other side of the pond that might sell over here if they offered it.

All my daily drivers where/are old. Apart from a newly acquired 420ML. I bought a 1983 1300 Golf in 1983 and 4 month later is gotten written off by a guy crossing my lane.
Never bought another new, or would want to.

Although...I rented a 2011 Hyundai iLoad van on a UK trip for 3 weeks. Overall mpg....taking into account the liters to US gallon equation....was 34.8mpg and I drove 1800 some miles and mostly at and above the national speed limit.

Was powered by a 2.5 Turbo diesel and 5 speed manual trans. Can't buy one here. .
so, I'm fitting a 1999 Jetta TDi to a '85 VW Westy .... so still staying with the old diesel machinery.

.
