Ron Paul: What happened ?

The 2012 presidential election is long over so to speak, and look at the mess we got now. The current administration is quite the disappointment for many Americans.

Not suggesting at all that Mitt would be any better.

Ron Paul was and remains clearly a superior leader in all regards to B.O., but we got what we got and we need to deal with those consequences unfortunately.

I wonder why the media ignored Ron Paul and helped B.O. win the election. I wonder if the media feels a little betrayed over DoJ targeting members of the media? Fox News Reporter James Rosen Had DoJ Target - Business Insider

Paul is a silly old coot who made way too much sense to the taken for real on some issues and the rest, just plain --- Way Out There.

Ron who?

How many primary victories did he have? It's been so long . . .
He did win delegates, but did "the media" really cost him the election?

Yup, wasn't the media, rather our 2 party system that he certainly doesn't fit into.

I respect Paul's courage and agree with some of his stands but for too many reasons the guy in unelectable. Too often he comes across like some idealistic zealot who wouldn't know how to be flexible when reality demanded it.

That and the fact that the US public is never going to elect a POTUS who comes across as that frail. He was 77 in '12 and a guy would have to be pretty robust to get elected at that age.

The guys a raving kook. Useless though the alternatives are, even the US public is not going to elect the type of nut-job that thinks 911 is an inside job.

Ron paul never was in a direct election against Obama, he lost from all the idiots the GOP put forward. Besides old angry man and extreme left wing twenty year olds no one voted for Ron Paul.

I did get to vote for Ron Paul in the Florida Rep primary. I'm not sure what kind of POTUS he would have made but I wanted to have some of his ideas aired. But, yeah, he's basically a crank. I can't see how I would have voted for him as "the supreme leader"

If Ron Paul had been a woman hating corporate shill, his chances of gaining the Republican nomination would have been increased.

Wowza ..

Paul stood for many things, and some of his notable ideas / policies would have been:

1. Minimal taxation of the populace

2. No intervention with foreign affairs, sort of like an isolationist, e.g., George Washington

3. Decreased Government

Just to name a few. Oddly, and somewhat counter-intuitively, folks must love the concept of being taxed out the wazzoo, more - bigger government, and rattling our sabier overseas.

Our current regime hyped up the crowd on the hope and change deal, and wowed the crowd with snazzy speaches demonizing the last 30 years of politics, and what we currently got out of our illustrious leader,

1. Much more taxes than ever before, although some are disguised nicely, e.g., health care

2. Bigger government, actually so big, we have a staff on board to listen in on phone conversations, not to mention the $17 trillion dollar public debt ... we are still incurring over $2 billion a day in public debt. Not so much on the major promises by B.O. to slice the government and all the transparency stuff.

3. We are getting more and more involved in the affairs of other nations

And, the list goes on ...

I guess this is what the American people truly want, contrary to all the demonstrations and speeches proclaiming less to no taxes, no more wars, smaller government. Rather, we must love overall the opposite.

I guess I stand with Ron Paul in the ultra minority.

Paul was appealing on some level. Looking deeper I found him to be not just a crackpot, but a racist, misogynistic homophobe. Bye bye Doktor Paul.
