WTH?? $9k for a virtual space ship??
I don't get it this at all. Some online game where you use real money to buy fake stuff that you use in fake wars that destroys the fake stuff you used real money to buy.
There are links in the article about other games where someone paid $100 for a club built on an asteroid and later sold space in this club for $330k or something like this. Have people lost their ever loving mind? My question is who gets the money and how can I start a game like this? On line gaming

It would seem that it wouldn't be technically difficult to start such a website IF your conscience would let you. Well, will it?

I tried to play World of Tanks, a free to play online multiplayer game. It's pretty cool but of course the beginner tanks suck and you have to be really dedicated at online gaming to build your way up to the big boy tanks. But you can buy game credits and what not, which is how they get you for FTP games.
I decided to stick to single player games and went outside and played with my dog |

I would like to see the write up, if any, ok the ambush of that ship. I can see why some people dedicate themselves to these games

"Valued at" vs. actual value. My "backpack" in one game I play is probably "valued at" a couple hundred dollars since they sell the items for $10-15 each. They also randomly drop and/or you'll trade for stuff here and there. I've never spent a penny on it. Nobody would give me a couple hundred dollars for it.

So let me get this straight. You find it strange that people send electronically generated numbers (money via their credit cards), which have no physical existence to people who pretend to own a non-existent world? Man, is this a great country or what?

Hell yes. If I had the expertise and the income covered the expense I'd do it in a heart beat. Not like anyone is holding a gun to anyone head and forcing them to spend $9k on a virtual space ship.

Sorry to be so blunt but I don't think drug addicts would be capable of producing such funds for the purchase let alone the skill to use the items purchased.
