He's paid his time. The people arguing against jailing him indefinitely are right -- the rule of law must prevail. If they pass civil commitment for dangerous offenders, how long before it's used against other less violent types of criminals.

Glad Vermont still respects human rights, even of vile criminals.

He served his time and no doubt was involved in therapy and rehabilitation during his incarceration. His crime was terrible but people who make death threats against sex offenders has always made me laugh. Its some strange honor among criminals where murder and drug dealing is some kind of moral high ground.

Its hard to say "give him a shot" because if he does reoffend that would be absolutely terrible but on the flip side, people outside his house threatening him will make if entirely impossible for him to renter society and make an attempt at being a productive member of society.

They need to watch this sicky CLOSELY.

Castration would have been a cheaper, easier, and permanent solution instead of feeding, housing, couseling, and supporting this guy.

He could have never served any lengthy expensive jail time. Once convicted of the crime, he should have been sent immediately to the chopping block, then released after a year o two.

He could always get into politics...

On a more serious note, who will give him a job? Who will befriend him? What will he do when society shuns him? He has nothing to lose.

Maybe he could get a job changing-out targets at Hatt's shooting range.

He apparently has no interest in short, balding, chubby, middle aged men. I'm not worried.
