So I wonder which is worse, someone with bad aim hitting a good guy, or the perp hitting a good guy. In the long run, things like this make the bad guys think a little more before attempting something like this.

Give the good guy at the Waffle House a marksmanship medal and put him back on the street.

Of course the liberals always come up with cock in bull excuses like worrying about bad aim, rather than being pleased that the bad guy didn't get away with it. It's to be expected from their kind.

What if the robber got jumpy that the cashier wasn't moving fast enough and shot the cashier? This sounds like a reasonably good outcome.

how about the perp and someone with bad aim both hitting good guys in a wild west style firefight?
Didn't you tell us when that shooter killed a bunch of people during batman that you would have taken him out no problem in a dark theater full of screaming running people?

If gun ownership was universally regulated in such a way to ensure that possession of a gun also came with the training to use it properly and mandatory recertification of your skills, then on many points we might agree.
However, thats not the case, how many people do you personally know who are fools with their weapon and don't clean or use it properly?
I know a few, and it seems everyone knows a few.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children.

uhh, so you would place your life at risk for a waffle house franchise location? Right, anyone who thinks they don't want "died to keep waffles flowing" on their tombstone is a sheep.

Ive had food poisoning there, I don't think even if I were armed that I would waste the time trying to shoot someone down robbing the register.

Better chance of catching him when he robs the register and leaves, clerk doesn't put his life at risk, customers don't put their life at risk, guy takes the cash and gets caught 24 hours later after police review security cameras and make an id of the perp or his getaway vehicle. My opinion is let the professionals handle it

You're not risking your life for a chain store. You're risking your life because some yobbo with a gun is brandishing it and menacing people. Who knows, if you don't act and he gets startled, you may be the first person he shoots.

that possibility exists, as well as the possibility of my gun misfiring, me missing the perp, me hitting the clerk, me dropping the gun, me firing it into my leg and getting shot anyway, me firing out the window and hitting someone on the street, ect ect ect ect.

This outcome was good, but by no means is it a measure of all outcomes by the other links posted in this thread.

My personal observation is that for every person who knows how to use their gun and is calm and collected under pressure, there are more who have one for security, and are more likely to shoot themselves than to get a useful shot off at the perp.

Call it raising the stakes with no definitive outcome
