Violence will rice with changing climate.

From the LA Times: Violence will rise as climate changes, scientists predict.

"Now, three Berkeley researchers have pulled together data from these and other studies and concluded that the incidence of war and civil unrest may increase by as much as 56% between now and 2050, due to warmer temperature and extreme rainfall patterns predicted by climate change scientists.

Likewise, episodes of interpersonal violence — murder, assault, rape, domestic abuse — could increase by as much as 16%, they report in a study published Thursday by the journal Science.

"We find strong causal evidence linking climatic events to human conflict … across all major regions of the world," the researchers concluded."

Cause and effect.

Are you suggesting that the warmer climate leads to more "rice" being grown that in turn leads to the increase in conflict? ;):P:P

Wheat do you suggest?

Dubyagee 08-01-2013 09:49 PM

I hope the rice doesn't boil over.

Jorn 08-01-2013 09:50 PM

LOL, damn phone. Stay away from wheat, it will make you bloated and less likely to defend your self.

Rice has been a militant food throughout recorded history. Probably has something to do the edible portion consisting of "kernels", (Get it? "kernels" You know, "Colonels". ahh forget it.)

You're wrong, he who hires the ones with guns gets the rice and will rise to the top.

...so is it he who controls the peanuts who controls the rice? Do I need to go assassinate Mr. Peanut so that I can ascend to the throne? I have been called a nut, so I assume I am next in line.

The whole ball of wax is about to go down the drain

Mike D 08-01-2013 10:49 PM

Don't be such a goober. Mr. Peanut is a fictional character. Don't turn this serious discussion into a farce.
